AfriRide Driver Terms of Use

Effective 27 August 2026 · Version 2026-08-27

These terms apply to taxi, cargo and delivery services provided through one AfriRide Driver account.

1. Eligibility and Accurate Information

You must be at least 18, be legally permitted to provide each selected service, and give accurate identity, contact, transport, insurance, licence, capacity, payout and verification information. You must keep time-sensitive information current and replace expired documents promptly.

2. Service Capabilities

Taxi, cargo and delivery are separate capabilities. AfriRide may approve, reject, request more information, suspend or reinstate each capability independently. Approval for one capability does not grant access to another. You may select only an approved, active capability and may switch modes only while no job is active.

3. Transport and Package Limits

You must use the approved transport mode and comply with its carrying capacity, dimensions, operating radius and package restrictions. Do not accept prohibited, unsafe, unlawful or unsuitable goods. Bicycle and on-foot couriers must not present themselves as motor-vehicle operators.

4. Service Conduct and Safety

  • Follow road, licensing, safety, consumer-protection and delivery laws.
  • Use the assigned pickup, handover and proof-of-delivery controls honestly.
  • Protect customer, vendor and passenger information and contact them only for the active service.
  • Do not share accounts, manipulate location, create duplicate acceptances, bypass platform payments or falsify documents or delivery proof.
  • Report accidents, damaged or restricted goods, safety concerns and compromised accounts promptly.

5. Location and Device Permissions

Online matching, navigation and active-job tracking require precise location. Background location is used only where explained in the app, permitted by your device and necessary for an active operational purpose. You may withdraw device permission, but you must go offline or stop accepting work when reliable location cannot be provided.

6. Offers, Jobs and Cancellations

The backend is the source of truth for offers, assignments, prices, commissions and completion. An offer is not yours until the server confirms assignment. You must not continue work on an expired or withdrawn offer. Repeated avoidable cancellations, timeouts, fraud or unsafe conduct may affect the relevant capability.

7. Earnings, Commissions and Adjustments

Applicable pricing, commissions, taxes, adjustments, refunds and payout timing may differ by service. The app will present available job and earnings information, but final settlement is determined by verified server records. You are responsible for taxes and obligations that apply to your independent service activity unless local law requires otherwise.

8. Reviews, Suspension and Appeals

AfriRide may request more information or suspend a capability for expired documents, safety, fraud, quality, legal or operational reasons. Where appropriate, the app or support channel will provide a reason and a path to respond or resubmit. Suspending a capability does not automatically suspend the whole account, though serious platform-wide misconduct may affect all access.

9. Privacy and Confidentiality

Your information is handled under the Driver Privacy Policy. You must keep customer, vendor, passenger and platform information confidential and delete locally retained job information when it is no longer needed.

10. Account Closure and Continuing Obligations

You may request account closure through available support channels. Outstanding jobs, safety investigations, payouts, disputes, fraud controls and legally required records may need to be resolved or retained. Confidentiality, payment, audit and dispute provisions continue where reasonably necessary.

11. Changes and Contact

Material changes will receive a new version and effective date. Where required, AfriRide will request renewed acceptance before affected use continues.

Questions or review requests can be sent to support@afriride.com.
